Knitting a sweater by hand takes about a million years still and wool isn't exactly cheap, hence why ppl r willing to spend good money on a sweater (given that it lasts). which it won't nowadays since HM and zara and the rest slap a big sticker stating "recycled polyester" as if thats something to say. This explains why everything available in stores is tricot (stretch) to appeal to a wider audience, woven fabrics like satin that don't stretch need to be tailored to fit just you, otherwise they rip easily and look pretty bad.
