Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a Transmissable Spongiform Encephalopathy that affects deer. TSEs are types of diseases that are thought to be caused by prions misfolding. Similar diseases include "Mad Cow Disease" and Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease.
