How to feel better about yourself!

Welcome, let me just say that you are beautiful and loved but I know everyone feels bad about themself sometimes. That’s natural it’s okay. I used to struggle with this too, with confidence and self worth. Most of it was because of acne. And I know it’s a big problem with teens like myself so I’m here to try and help you.

Just know that you shouldn’t always take the advice of others to help yourself but at least take this advice into consideration. Let’s start with a few simple things. Assess yourself, look in your mirror. What do you see? What do you like about what you see? What do you not like about what you see? Is it body image? Self love problems? Self care issues? Write it down or just keep it in mind. This advice can go all ways. For guys, girls, and nonbinary people.

If you think your problem is acne or problems with your face and how you look, then look into yourself. Why do you think your acne is happening? Are you keeping up with personal hygiene? Or is it a hormone imbalance? Then keep these things in mind as well.

Here are some things you can do:

- Try and use more feminine products such as soaps, deodorant, perfume, and lotions. If you’re a guy I know It might be hard to do that but it will make you feel so much better about yourself and you will smell very good.

- Keep yourself in check, find out what Is making you break out.

- Dont touch your face.

- When it starts getting better, do not expect your face to be clean and clear. It will not always be like that. Be happy with a generally clear face.

- Be happy about small pimples when they happen or when there are none.

- Don’t base your self worth on your face.

- Understand that everyone gets acne sometimes, and you are not alone.

(Cheek, forehead, Jawline, and neck acne can be caused from, stress, hormone imbalance and poor diet. I am not a dermatologist I got this from online.)

- Eat as healthy as you need, eat as healthy as you can or can handle. But do not starve yourself or skip over meals.

- Do things for yourself, use face masks, get a gua sha, use pimple patches, pamper yourself.

- Dont take advice from DIY things on Pinterest. Or other people, these things might work but it’s a gamble and only use products you trust and are comfortable using.

- If something works dont over use them.

- Take a look into yourself and learn to love yourself.

- Listen to music that makes you feel good/ sexy and if you don’t want to feel sexy then just find music that makes you feel good.

- Learn about yourself, how your body works and try something different.

- Keep your routine simple, use simple products, easy to get or buy products. (Ice packs are great for bad acne days)

- Surround yourself with people who hype you up and make you feel good and will be willing to help you if you wish.

- Drink more water, don’t use facial lotion with fragrance (blocks pores) be happy with yourself as best as you can.

- Laugh at youself.

- Smile and be more expressive.

- Smile at your reflection and admire yourself for your beauty.

- Don’t worry about other people’s opinions about your appearance. It’s only your opinion that matters.

- Monitor your sodium, or sugar intake if you think that’s what you need.

- Eat your fruit and veggies.

- It’s all about confidence.

- If you want to you should try Aloe Vera, natural, non fragrant kind.

- Compliment yourself. Just try it, even if it’s small.

- Clean your phone case and other things you touch.

- Just do things for yourself to make yourself feel happier and more comfortable.

- If you’re struggling with body images just know that once in everyone’s life they notice something they dislike about their body. But you can try and wear clothes that excentuate your features.

- Be kind to yourself and learn that it’s okay. Acne is normal, body image issues are normal.

- Here are some places for body, face products and Makeup. These places are American as far as I know but feel free to look up any places in your area. Pinterest is also good for this. Trader Joe’s has good lotion and Face oils. Marshall’s has good make up and overall good products for your skin and body. Any local soap shops or beauty places will often have natural and good ingredients in their stores. Bath and body works for Perfume and Lotions.

- Use Pinterest for your own benefit.

- Embrace yourself, do anything that feels natural and comfortable to you.

- Wash your hands more than you might think you need to.

- Take time off and time for you. Take mental breaks and talk to yourself when you’re stressed.

- Journal and or write down things you like about yourself everyday or as much as you can.

- Keep a log of food you ate and how they affected your skin and body.

- Don’t take things too seriously or personally and let yourself become more calm about yourself.

- Spend more time alone and watch a movie, clean and get to know youself.

- Talk to a friend for advice, or a dermatologist if you feel you need to.

- Attractivness ≠ Self Worth

- Wear sunscreen/spf even in winter.

- Love yourself and I love you!

These are only a few things that you can do but try your best to research this topic and get more advice from other people. Just know that you will get through this and don’t hold yourself to high expectations.
