How I deal with Anxiety

Welcome back!

I might not have a name to put to this... I just wanted to share a bit of help or things that help me deal with the Anxiety.

I'm someone who had a lot of ups and downs during the last three years (it started in 2021) and a lot of them caused enormous amounts of anxiety for me, so I had to learn how to deal with it by myself. (As I mentioned in other blogs I'm not so open about my problems with other people so most of the time I have to deal with them on my own)

So let's not waste more time!

-Disclaimer-
English is not my first language so I might have a lot of errors and grammar mistakes

1. Calm down...

(Wow I would not imagine that!/src)

This is kinda basic, but the first thing to do to deal with any kind of emotional problem is to take it easy, to calm down, just relax... I usually take a walk to calm down or listen to some music (mostly metal, 'cause it makes me realize more easily my emotions) and act more reasonably, without getting carried away by instincts or intrusive thoughts.

2. Identify what is giving you anxiety

This is basic too, but is one of the most important things to do, maybe there is more than one problem or it's just something specific that is giving you anxiety. So when you are in a more calm mental state you can identify what is *that*. Maybe is work, school, interpersonal problems, family, etc...

Is important to know what is the cause just for the sake of not going insane trying to fight an invisible enemy.

3. Write down what you feel

(It's not necessary but it can help)

Just the simple action of writing down your thoughts and feelings takes away a lot of emotional weight, it helps to think rationally and not do shit that you could regret afterward. Also is very important to write down everything that is giving you anxiety just so you know how to deal with it more easily and organized.

Also if you don't like to write you can express your feelings or emotions in other types of form, like in a video (like a blog or something like that, but keep it only for yourself), in a drawing, painting, etc... just try to let it out and organize your mind.

4. Confront the problem

This can be the most difficult part of everything, but just trying to get out of the problem is the best thing to do to calm anxiety. It can be hard and take time but with everything planned in advance (written) is like eaten bread. Also, the confrontation part can cause anxiety but just remember that is better to do things now and not regret tomorrow...

-Don't try to distract yourself from the problem.

It can be worse for your metalhead if you are trying to avoid a problem very often, the best way is to try and fix it not run away from it... (I know there are times when is really necessary to just give a little break from something that is emotionally damaging, but I'm referring here mostly to those big problems that you constantly are eviting to confrontate.)

This might not help everyone but you still can try and use some of this!

My biggest reason to write this is because I have seen a lot of teenagers who are younger than me who are going through a really existential crisis and very anxious periods... and I know it's something hard to go through and it can be suffocating to deal with a bunch of new emotions that you don't even know... so you are not alone and the besting to do is let it out, talk about it with someone or on the contrary if you are like me and prefers to keep your things to yourself the previous tips can help...

Thanks for reading all of this ^v^
