2023 RECAP BISHES!!!!!

Hey guys, I'm back!

So 2023 is almost over, and I want to do a recap of the year. I stole this idea from MaliceTearsDontFall (they're inactive, so they won't see this >;3), and they did their recap from 2009 (even though I was two during the year). Because I loved the layout of the questions, I decided to recreate the same exact thing for 2023. Feel free to use it if you wanna :3

QUESTIONS

1. What did you do in 2023 that you'd never done before? (Create my first AMV ever. I didn't share it with you, but I will sometime soon.)
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year? (I only kept one: to travel outside the U.S., and I'll probably make one more next year.)
   
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? (No.)
   
4. Did anyone close to you die? (Yes, unfortunately I lost a childhood friend to a car accident. And that was only almost 10 days until Chirstmas.)
   
5. What countries did you visit? (Japan. And I'm planning to do that again.)
   
6. What would you like to have in 2024 that you lacked in 2023? (Artistic motivation. Seriously, I didn't even touch the sketchbook I bought from Osaka.)
   
7. What dates from 2023 will remain etched in your memory, and why? (June 25-July 3: This was my first time going to a completely different country without my parents. Best friggin' decision EVER.)
   
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? (Getting inducted to the National Honor Society. That made my parents proud. Me? Well, yeah, I was happy, but I ended up having to attend MANY meetings about random school events. Bruh.)
9. What was your biggest failure? (idk...I probably have too many to count XDDD)
10. Did you suffer from an illness or injury? (No.)
11. What was the best thing you bought? (A Naruto figurine, Death Note manga and an illustration book that comes along with it.)
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? (I honestly don't know. Everyone was still the same from what I remember.)
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? (My piano teacher. I do NOT want to get started with that because I have been taking piano lessons since I was 9. Thank God I stopped.)
14. Where did most of your money go? (Food, books, dice, and manga, but mainly food.)
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? (Winter break. Always the best, and it will forever be the best.)
16. What song will always remind you of 2023? (The music kind of sucked this year...the only song that has an exception from me is "Oral" by Björk and Rosalía'.)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer? (okay, this is not gonna be a straight answer: a) probably happier. b) thinner. i've been fasting for a bit. c) poorer.)
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? (Actually going out of my house to visit my friends. But my parents keep telling me that something's gonna happen to me if I visit a "stranger's house" or something, yet they still ask me why I'm not coming out of my bedroom.) 
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? (Focusing on other people's lives, and that includes romantic relationships. I struggle a lot with relationships since I haven't had any of them last. I don't know if it's because of me, but it sure feels like it.)
20. How did you spend Christmas? (It's not Christmas yet. I'll update this blog once it's past Christmas.)
21. Did you fall in love in 2023? (Yes, and I didn't have that love returned. Yippee...:,3)
22. What was your favourite TV program? (The Legend of Vox Machina, Sweet Home, GITS: SAC, Cowboy Bebop, and Girl From Nowhere.)
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? (If we're not counting myself, then no.) 
24. What was the best book you read? (Oh shit...I have a lot: Wilder Girls by Rory Power, Honey Girl by Morgan Rogers, Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick, Evermore by Alyson Noel, Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao, and Single Ladies by Blake Karrington.)
25. What was your greatest musical discovery? (Xandria, Tripod, and DJs From Mars.)
26. What did you want and get? (D&D dice. I don't care, I NEED IT.)
27. What did you want and not get? (Luck. Pure luck.)
    
28. What was your favourite film of this year? (Oppenheimer)
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? (I went to the Cheesecake Factory and saw one of my classmates there. I was 15 when this happened.)
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? (Getting to co-lead a student-led Christmas event before the winter break last year! The sophomore class at the time held a movie screening/cookie and hot chocolate event after school, and we had a lot of students packed in one small-ish room lol.)
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2023? (Hip-hop/R&B clothing mixed with some gothic makeup. Sometimes it would be a normal weeb/otaku outfit, if I can even call it that.)
32. What kept you sane? (The Internet LMAOOOOOO)
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? (Keanu Reeves and Sam Riegel)
34. What political issue stirred you the most? (Gay rights in Africa and the whole Israel-Palestine conflict going on. I'm trying so hard not to get myself involved with that.)
35. Who did you miss? (My girl crush.)
36. Who was the best new person you met? (Taka-san; he was our tour guide for our school's Japan trip. He was so passionate about his culture and everything!)
37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2023. (Nothing's changed from 2022. If anything, it got worse.)
