Worldbuilding thoughts (1/?)

Sometimes I think back about that one pillowfort post I made which tried to connect bloodborne and dark souls through the dark soul (I might post it here some other time, it's over 3 years old and could use some polishing) and it makes me think about how my OC universes are connected...  if  they are connected.

You see, for a long time they were actually connected - it was wonky and weird, sure, but it made sense in my head. When I reworked my OCs' worlds I got rid of that though, because they were just too different. I got three different settings in my head, all pretty unfinished as of today because I've been focusing more on the characters and their relationships than the world that surrounds them. However, every now and then I notice similarities between them, so, once again, I'm playing with the idea to connect them.

I probably should not, though, because that's a lot of work. But it's something to think about hmm

AUs like hkrsztt mentioned could be worth a try!
Sometimes I keep the fandom/universe for my storied unspecified, only revealing the parts that are relevant to the characters and framing those parts within both settings. Then it looks a lot like X, but it could also be Y with a little imagination. I don‘t know if that‘s of much help at all, but whatever you wanna roll with, it‘s your story, so just have fun with it!

Oh no worries, I'm a big fan of aus and having fun so I'll do just that 👀 I think for now I'll keep these different universes seperate, it allows me to focus on them rather being stuck on making everything work and "make sense"

Perhaps you could have AU versions of different characters in each universe? 👀
