SOSHUL MEAT DUH (And the rise and fall) [12/1/23]

I'm so glad SpaceHey exists because sometimes I get so tired of the mainstream social media platforms and how they're set up. Being able to come here and do things IRL that make me feel like I can immerse myself in that early-internet age takes a lot of stress of my shoulders at times.

I feel like modern social media puts such a spotlight on you. Everyone's watching, you've got this sort of presence where all the pressure is on you. Like you're on stage and you have to behave a certain way instead of being yourself.

Coming to platforms like this feel like such a relief. Like coming home from being out all day. Slipping a sweater on after wearing something uncomfortable for a long period of time. It's cozier, less attention on you. It feels a lot less pressuring.

Both have their ups and downs, but I like the option of being able to choose between whenever I want/need to.
