I saw "Wish" recently and well...

I'm usually not that interested in disney films but they kept hyping this one up as a "movie that was a century in the making" and so I was really interested then to see it. So I went and saw it.

I want the time I wasted back.

It was not at all a good film, in fact the movie was probably the worst disney film I've ever sat through. I don't normally hate movies, because I can see the good in everything even if a movie is really boring I'll still recognize that there are enjoyable aspects to a film. Wish has none of that.

It feels so souless as if there's no passion behind anything that was put on screen. All of the characters are forgettable, the songs are not that amazing either (I liked "At All Cost" tbh but that was the only song I found tolerable) The motivations behind the characters are incredibly lacking, and the villain song in this film isn't on par with disneys past villain numbers. Not to mention the really weird lyrics for the film that I just wondered who wrote, and who in the writers room was like "yeah that is good enough to put in a disney princess film let's just go with it lol".

One of the lyrics is literally "When it comes to the universe, we're all Shareholders. Get that through your system. Solar!" And I just can't convinced that a real person wrote that and thought it was good let alone one who works for a billion dollar company.

Asha, the "princess" is also just very boring, I found nothing inspiring about her. Her life is perfect, she has the same cookie cutter "adorkable" awkward personality as Rapunzel and Anna from frozen, and while she does have friends in the movie all of them are really forgettable (i can't even remember their names that's how lame they all were) Apparently they were based off of the 7 dwarves from Snow White, but you wouldn't have known that if you weren't googling it in my opinion.

I don't even know what the true message of the film is or what kind of moral it was trying to teach. All in all, just don't waste your money bring your kids to see Trolls 3 or something instead, I watched that and it was loads more fun than Wish was.
