i saw you because you were the stone in a rushing river. the ebb of people dancing and cheering for my favorite band sloshed around you. leaving a wake that sometimes quickly apologized. i saw you because you saw not the band not the crowd not the stage. you saw just above all of it the dapples in the trees and the wind who carried the music and the leaves awning shade and the sunlight spotlighting the ground in freckles.
