Working at my studio today, Thursday

How did I get into making leather goods, you might be wondering....

I used to be member of a street performers group at home in Portugal. There are various photos on my profile showing us performing in places around southern Europe. Well, we needed costumes!

My friend Marialuiza and I, both acrobats/gymnasts somehow got into the habit of making costumes, and so it was a natural progression. I eventually was responsible for making and maintaining costumes for everyone in the group (there were fourteen of us!)

When I left the group and moved here with my now ex-boyfriend Robert, I looked to have an income, since I wasn't about to remain a street performer! I set up here in Finchley, since I was living here with him at the time, and he knows the guys who own the studios. 

I still see Robert, he is among the group of people I socialise with, but there's nothing more to our relationship than that. When I needed a home of my own, I wasn't about to try and purchase a home in Finchley, so I looked at suggested places in Hertfordshire. I didn't like the look of Potter's Bar, or Barnet, Southgate and places, so I looked in the county town of the county that I was closest to, and in Hertford I found the apartment where I now live.
