I got invited to join a shit band in which I'm the only person with a significant amount of experience with their instrument, and I foolishly accepted without vetting them first. So far, our first jam session is not going to happen at all for the time being. The lineup's organization is shoddy since the guy rounding everyone up is just allowing whoever to do whatever.
The drummer decided to be a bassist despite not having owned a bass ever, so we are in need of a new drummer. The lead guitarist has only been playing since June, and the only song he's played since August has been Free Bird. (He's still missing the fingering often.) Lastly, the rhythm guitarist up and left before I even joined.
I'm not against people learning to play music a bit later in life, but all of these factors put together are setting off alarm bells in my head that this isn't going to be a fulfilling experience.
Hit me up if you know of any promising offers. I am an 8-year piano player and a 3-year guitarist who is also open to providing vocals. I have taken vocal and piano lessons and am self-taught in guitar.
Let me know if you need any samples of my work.
