Back in '05 I discovered MySpace, I was in 5th grade. I found out about it thru my big sister who was also using Xanga at the time. I was already involved with AIM going back and forth with classmates, that also slowly started using MySpace as well. Fast forward to Summer 2006 arguably one of the best times of my life. This was the summer right before entering Middle School, skateboarding impacted my life heavy at this time. I was hanging with the older kids in the neighborhood, asked a girl out for the first time and was rocking my first cell phone ...a Metro PCS Nokia but I digress. In the midst of my days full of teen angst, I'd always find myself at the computer logging into MySpace.
Before social media took over our world and everyday lives, we had a website that allowed you to express yourself, be creative through coding and discover people, music, videos ect. In terms of nowadays it could easily be said that you can do that same thing with every other social media app. However MySpace was just different and so was that era within itself. Nobody was pissed off at each other going on political rants, cancel culture wasn't even a thought. No iPhones, Instagram, Snapchat or TikTok.
All in all, it's just refreshing to have Spacehey bring back the simplistic feeling that MySpace once had. Thank You AnTheMaker for making this possible.
