Redownloading PSO2... to try the old one again!!

I've been recently trying out the old Phantasy Star Portable games on the PSP and I forgot how much I love the whole aesthetic and art-style of the series! I truly wish there was a way to play the original PSO2 on my PS Vita with some kind of private servers but with the performance on the limited handheld and the client being japan-only (with the public servers shut down as well), it likely won't happen :( I've also been wanting to sink my teeth into a great MMORPG that I could just have fun in whenever. My original plan was to play FFXIV with my friend but unfortunately they don't have the time. The free trial, however, is very expansive and scratches that itch of what I would want! However, I'm just fine with the fantasy theme that FFXIV flows with, as it doesn't appeal to me much. As for New Genesis, I heard it had quite a lot of backlash with its monetization practices and when I tried it for the first time, I was really bummed out just by the island stuff (very biased abt that, ik). So I will just try PSO2 classic again, with unfortunately downloading NGS because you HAVE to :/ I'll probably make a follow-up post about my experience, but when I also get time since finals are soon to kill all my free time 3:
