edit 3: It appears that I have overreacted to this site. I will be keeping this blog entry for historical reasons but I do not fully think that the site is a reason for concern as I now have a neutral opinion on the site.
I've noticed that a user is going around adding people (currently
sitting at 22000+ friends) on here, seemingly to spread a site called
"Offline". While I and someone else who have looked into this have not
made any conclusions, I would exercise caution around this site. It is
allegedly being blocked by some internet service providers and is
blocked by Microsoft Edge's blacklist, as well as being flagged by one provider on https://virustotal.com. I have also noticed that it tries
to get a full name out of you and will offer to import your contacts
from either Gmail or Outlook, allowing the site information about you.
On top of this, the site's JS (most of its code) is obfuscated,
meaning it's harder to take a look at what this site actually does.
Please be careful when clicking links spread on here or anywhere else.edit: It appears that this site used to be for another service which was allegedly a phishing scam. I have also found that the current site has forms for nearly any part of identifying info that can be tied to you so I would still be careful around this site.
edit 2: After looking at the Wayback Machine's archive of the site, the main email address for contacting the site's owner is the same on both the off---line.com phishing site (before the Facebook clone) and after it became a Facebook clone. While hi (at) off---line (dot) com is a pretty basic address, I would still be suspicious of a link between the two sites.

thanks for the warning. yeah i saw that guy and immediately knew something was shady about it. thats why i always use a cockli email when i sign up to sites like these (οΌΒ΄βο½)
i hope you don't mind a random commenting on your blog btw, i just felt the need to comment lol

I gave it a forwarding address personally, I avoid cockli because of the fact that the owner uses Gab unironically and uses fedi on one of the worse instances. I might sign up as a joke, but who knows.
Also don't worry about commenting, if I didn't want comments, I wouldn't post publicly.

it's just that i made over 30 disposable cockli mails that i can use on any site and not care about information being leaked or anything. nothing more than that! the guy behind it is definitely strange though.

My email is pretty public but when signing up for stuff like this I either use an alias, a throwaway, or one of my burner addresses on an email known to have bad privacy (Gmail, Live, etc)
