First movie: Twilight

my rating: 6/10

my review: The movie is really corny and takes itself too seriously. When I was watching it I found it quite amusing and the style/aesthetic is quite pretty and it makes you want to be there, but the plot is awful and the main characters are unlikable. Isabella, or better known as Bella, is made to be 'different' and 'special' while there is nothing special about her character, she is loved by everyone for apsolutely no reason and perceived as someone unique when her character is really bland. Edward is very romanticized, though he acts very creepy and is actually just Bella's stalker who happens to have supernatural power and abilities. He watched her when she slept, he tried to read the minds of the people around her so he could listen in on her conversations, he tries to manipulate her constantly and he puts her down after they go out together, he indulges his obsession with her by following her and even breaking into her room when she's asleep. Not to mention the fact that he is 108 years old and she was barely 17. The movie is romanticizing an abusive relationship and claims it's a love story while it is infact a horror to me. First time watching it I didn't really notice that because the dialog and the way it is filmed makes the movie very humorous and entertaining though it takes itself seriously for no reason, I would like the movie a whole lot more if it was branded as a comedy or a parody of the book (which is even worse than the movie.) The reason I rated the movie so high is because I watched it in a way you would watch a bad comedy and I didn't take it seriously because I didn't focus on the plot all that much. If I have to rate the plot I would rate it a 3/10 and even thaat is high. I recommend it if you want to watch something thrashy, it's a fun movie to watch with your friends.
