Album Of The Day!! 🌌

Hello! Welcome to the AOTD of 23.11., today we will be going through the rest by boygenius, and I know I know I just did a boygenius AOTD but I just bought this on vinyl today!!! I don't really have much to say beforehand, let's get to it!

Today's tracklist is short since it's an EP, but it consists of:

1. Black Hole

2. Afraid Of Heights

3. Voyager

4. Powers

Black Hole is probably my favorite, I am so obsessed with the instrumental, and Julien singing at the start. It is such a beautiful song, and I really love how it builds up and god the piano, I am a sucker for piano in songs. And this instrumental part is just beautiful, as is the whole song. And now Lucy is singing and god, she is my favorite rn!! I reeaaallly love this part, the way she sings it, the lyrics just, ahh, so good... 

Afraid Of Heights starts off so beautifully, and I LOVE the transition from Black Hole to this, like I can never listen to just either, always have to listen to both. And oh my god favorite song on this EP lyrically for sure. It makes me emotional and just, it's so lovely... The third verse is probably my second favorite part of the song, and I honestly think this song ultimately made me a Lucy stan. And god "You called me a crybaby, but you're the one who got teary" this whole part is my absolute favorite. Lucy really shines in this song, and I love the instrumental in the back and it going on for a bit before fading out.

Voyager is in my opinion the most beautiful song on this EP?? I think, I don't know they're all so amazing and beautiful and just perfect all around. And this time Phoebe really gets to shine, absolutely beautiful voice. I feel so at peace listening to this. And I really love that this song doesn't have much of an instrumental and it just really completes the whole mood of it. 

Powers might be my least listened song on this EP but I still love it, and I really love Juliens voice, all their voices! I love the instrumental, it isn't too much but it is just enough for this song. The third verse REALLY makes me love this track, like it gives me so much life. All around a great song. So beautiful... But oh it is not over yet! We still have the beautiful as hell instrumental part at the end. A realllly beautiful way to end this song and EP.

This EP is just, so beautiful, the cover too, I am so glad I now own it on vinyl. I hate that it's so short but I am so glad we at least got it!! I give it a very strong 8.5/10, overall a very cohesive and beautiful EP!
