A lovely family meal, for my birthday

My Dad and my sister have come to stay, and we have just got back to my apartment after having dinner together, at a local restaurant. We were able to keep pricked ears from overhearing us by speaking in Portuguese and Ladin. 

They brought me some lovely gifts from Portugal, things I miss being here in England, food items we eat at home, though I'm not sure if they are supposed to bring foods on the airplane. They had other gifts too, my sister got me some books she knew I would like to read, some socks, and some perfume. My Dad had already agreed to give me the monies I spent on my silk nightie, which I shall wear in bed later, but he also brought some small gifts, jewellery items, twenty four carat gold of course, and he got me some very personal items he knows I like.

We enjoyed some vegetarian dishes for dinner, with rice, since it's not a kosher restaurant and we do observe the dietary laws. Now after a locely meal together we are getting ready to get our sleep, tomorrow we will have the better part of the day together. Dad always goes for a two hours run whenever he gets the chance. He's always training to run marathons. He has gone to several places around the world to run and the sponsorship he receives he donates to the Sephardic IDF community in Israel.

We have the TV on now and we are watching a Danish movie on Film4.
