Minor Feelings is in my opinion the PERFECT opener for this album, like I will repeat this a lot but I freaking LOVE the lyricism and her beautiful voice and these songs just oh mygod. And this song alone just, makes me so emotional. It perfectly starts this mess of emotions I am going to experience in the next 45-ish minutes!
Hold The Girl has SUCH a special place in my heart, it starts off so beautifully, and carries it throughout the song. The bridge is such a highlight of the song to me, I just HAVE to scream the lyrics, and then into the chorus with the chant-y sound and then the build up builds up and god her voice I just cant help but tear up here. A beautiful title track.
This Hell then takes kind of a 180 and we're back with a fantastic gay banger! The pre chorus cleanses my ears like actually, and then we get to the chorus that just makes me want to dance and sing and just, it is such a vibe! Obsessed with the lyrics too and the post chorus!! Fuck what they did to Britney, to Lady Di and Whitney! Okay but like the instrumental break really seals the deal with me after the bridge!! This hell is better with you !
Catch Me In The Air, ah, another beautiful song. I love the intro, and the whole instrumental just makes me feel at peace. No but like Rina's voice is literally so beautiful, and powerful like oh my god. I absolutely LOVE all the meanings of the songs and the lyrics. And ahh the pre chorus, such a fantastic build up to an even more fantastical chorus! I love that the second verse is a little shorter and goes straight into the more stronger pre chorus and boom, second chorus. I love how this song never like, slows down and it just keeps going so strongly! The bridge is so beautiful and then the last chorus with the breathtaking voice, the outro just makes the song feel so whole.Â
Forgiveness really gives me candy crush vibes for some reasons. It is a really pretty song, at first it was not anywhere in my favorites, I had a phase of the darker songs, but then I came back to the album a couple months ago and fell in love with the others too. I really vibe with this one honestly, the instrumental is so nice. The chorus is so fun too honestly, I love singing it!! But god the bridge is the best part imo, and the calmer start to the last chorus and then the instrumentals hit and GOD, chills! Actually like oh my god... Forgiveness really is a winding road. And now omg the outro and the bells ringing in the end, a perfect build up to such an iconic song:
Holy (Til You Let Me Go) is a song I have been obsessed with since the start. I absolutely love the atmosphere it creates with it's use of sounds and the echoy sound. And the lyrics are some of my favorite from the album. And the chorus hits me harder than a truck on the freeway. I can't help but just scream the lyrics every time. And then we get to the second verse. I love how the instrumentals are more there in the second verse/prechorus and then the second chorus hits the same, but with more of the bells and it just, it pure bliss for me. And then we get to the post chorus which is absolute total true heaven, the way she repeats "I'm holy til you let me goooo" and the instrumental being so good and just FJSGBND freaking out! And I love the ending of it, the bells, the people talking, such a great song.
Your Age starts off really nicely, with the instrument I don't wanna say what bc I know I'll get it wrong. And then the beat comes in, I love the lyrics here too so much. And the pre chorus ahh, inject it into my veins! And then we have the chorus and I just need to sing this every single time, I cannot help it! And I love how unique this song is in it's build, after the post chorus we have the little "You know what? We all have a monster inside of us" part and then my ears are blessed once more! This song is honestly not at all what I first expected!! It really blew way past my expectations overall. I love how like abruptly it ends and then we get to another great track.
Imagining is the track I loved the MOST when I first discovered this album in January. I had this on repeat, I love the lyrics, the instrumentals ahh, and the pre chorus is so good and then the start of the chorus, I NEED this type of music in my life, the like screaming (??) type of singing in the chorus it just, is bliss to my ears. Could we be imagining? Second verse now, am I okay? Nah! And we get really nicely into the second chorus, with the instrumental being just a tad bit different, but gosh I love this song. I feel like I'm falling in love all over again! And then the post chorus with the normal singing of the chorus' lyrics. And the repetition of the iconic phrase, "Could we be imagining?". All around a perfect track!
Frankenstein is the song that I discovered this album through actually! I heard it on tiktok during the eurovision rumors era and I kind of fell in love with it, really vibing with it! It also kind of reminded me of "Tear You Apart" by She Wants Revenge, as a big AHS hotel stan, this was great! The chorus is so good, I love the instrumental and the lyrics, and omg the post chorus is always stuck in my head!! The pre choruses are so good, and the build up to the second chorus omg, go off Rina!!! Frankenstein movie now with this in the soundtrack, pleek... I love the outro and the drums in the end, really going off with a bang!
Hurricanes, I might just cry right now! This song is literally the best, it is so so so good words cannot describe my love for it, 10/10, 100/10, 1000000/10!!! I love love love the lyrics and singing along, and god the way it starts so calmly and the pre chorus really lifts it up, and then we get to the chorus and just, THIS SONG IS SO BEAUTIFUL, I AM SO OBSESSED WITH IT. And then after a short chorus we get to the nice second verse carrying the flow of the song very nicely, I am a sucker for songs that start of calm and build up and just carry the flow and just love love love! And the second pre chorus, shorter and more morer! And the beautiful second chorus which is twice as long! And god the instrumentals rly going off here and her vocals, god god this bridge is my absolute favorite bc it just REALLY goes off, I cannot ever stay silent here like jesus christ! AND THE WAY THE LAST CHORUS JUST PICKS UP FROM THERE AND JUST UGH UGH I AM EXPERIENCING SUCH AN EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD RIGHT NOW, AND THE WAY IT REALLY ENDS WITH SUCH BEAUTY, I WILL FOREVER LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!
Send My Love To John is a song that will always surely make me cry an entire sea. It's whole calm, peaceful vibe, but then the lyrics that just break me apart. I love the story it tells, like so so much. The chorus is so beautiful, so is her voice, it really makes me feel things. Sad things... Her voice is so beautiful I don't know what else to say. Other than now that we are arriving at the bridge, I am prepared with tissues. And boom crying. And I am SO obsessed with how the last chorus starts and goes. SMLTJ stan for life! Ends so beautifully too.
Phantom is well, if you looked at the dictionary for the word "true beauty" you would see this song and everything else from this album. I REALLY slept on this song back in January when I first listened and loved this album, but back in August I really REALLY fell in love with this song and I will never not sing along... I love that the first chorus isn't so instrumental heavy but instead carried by her beautiful voice. And the second verse going so well and the pre chorus going GREATLY into the second chorus with such a beautiful instrumental and her voice I just need to cry right now, this trio of songs is NOT good for me. The bridge is just OH MY GOD OH MY GOD panic I love it so much, and need to scream it! And the instrumental part now just, I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE!! And the way the last chorus starts so calmly, and then the instrumentals REALLY kick in and GOD UGH HER VOICE!!!! SO SO BEAUTIFUL, I CAN'T STOP PRAISING THIS SONG, THIS ALBUM, I HAVE NO CRITICISM EXCEPT MORE SONGS, DELUXE PLEEK!!! And I really love how the song just keeps going you know? It doesn't stop at the post chorus, but it just keeps on going, actually transported to heaven right now with the Oohs in there. And the great ending with "I don't wanna do this without you".
To Be Alive makes me so emotional instantly, I don't know what Rina did to this album but it is just the best. Such an emotional adventure! I am obsessed with the lyrics, and the flow and build up and everything, I am just throwing terms left and right but !!!! And once again chorus starting calmer, carried by her BEAUTIFUL POWERFUL AMAZING VOICE!!! The instrumental part after the chorus with the "Yeah yeah yeah" in the background is so good too, and then the second verse, I don't know I kinda really relate to stuff in this album and it makes me love it even more. And yay second chorus, actually ate, cleared, left nothing at all, won the entire music industry. I love how this chorus was similar to the first one, starting calmer and then going off in the second half. And instrumental part again, god this is such a great closer for the album! And the outro, Flowers still look pretty when they're dying... The way the sound goes quieter and really just fades out, and then Minor Feelings starts again, a beautiful perfect circle moment.
So yeah, thank you for (possibly) reading this or looking at my AOTD talks!! I really love sharing my favorite music and my opinions, this album is so special to me and I will always defend it, forEVER. I give it a strong 9.5/10! I highly recommend you give it a listen! Like so highly, I can never praise it enough. Thank you! See you tomorrow!
