I find most of the cases love spells are being cast are for the wrong reasons, they are usually being cast to keep unhealthy love alive & well. Prolonging the hurt and devastation of a love gone bad, potentially keeping you from a healthier relationship. A love spell can't change something fundamentally wrong about a relationship, only enhances lingering feelings for the other person. Now, to each their own, but don't hurt yourself lovely creatures! This is what shadow work is for! It takes two to make a relationship work, it should never fully rest on one of the partner's shoulders.
Self-love spells are such a great way for us to step into our power and push us to use real world energy to love ourselves. Helps us realize the things we want in a relationship & partner are valid. Plus, the most important relationship we have is the one with ourselves, so why shouldn't we cultivate & grow it? While we never arrive, even in a healthy relationship, fully whole within ourselves, it is on us and not our partners to step into our power.
These are just my personal thoughts though, so do as you wish!

Love spells should never be cast on anyone but yourself. Free will should never be tampered with and trying to force something like love to work will never end in real love. I love this post. Well said.
