rambling about ts3 and ts4

Recently I've been playing a lot of sims 4, not because of the game on its on, but the amount of mods made by the active cc community. Those mods completely change the game for the better, from more fun options to realistic stuff like menstruation. However, they fail to make the game interesting because it is a core problem. I really like the ts4 graphics and the create a sim, but it lacks on most important areas like gameplay. The game is only playable, in my opinion, if you have a lot of mods to fix what EA couldnt, otherwise its trash. I can't only say bad things tho, i like how it has more hair diversity, even if it is more recent. Better now than never, am i right? Tho it still lacks in some areas, it even feels somewhat performative? i mean, its cool and all that they added binders (as a trans person, im all for trans rep) but they dont really change anything at all. the same with the other medical itens, they are just for aesthetic reasons. i wish those things would add to the gameplay, honestly. i also personally dislike the sexuality update because it was fun for me that i could get with any sim despite their gender, now they arent compatible because of their sexuality. i mean, its realistic i guess...... but i really liked to do storylines without having to worry if the person my sim likes is also gay or bi. tho it adds a bit of drama, it takes away control from the player. they basically just added homophobia considering weve always been able to get with any sim lol. its not a terrible update and i can see how it can be nice, but i personally wish i could go back to when everyone was bi and loved your sim. i also wish things werent so rushed, i mean, the back carrier doesnt fit on fat sims. one of my current main characters is a fat woman with her newborn and its clear that the back carrier was only made for the skinny 3d models. speaking of fat characters on the sims, the fat option on sims 4 is... not good. it doesnt change the face and the fattest your sims can get isnt thats much. here is a comparasion between ts3 and ts4

i mean.... ts3 has its flaws like the lack of hair diversity but i like that small detail of actually changing the facial structure of fat sims. the fat bodies on ts3 also arent the best, similarly to ts4, the fat bodies cant get any fatter than this

imo, ts3 did a slightly better job on fat bodies but that might be up to debate. idk, it still upsets me that the face is skinny on ts4 but that game is so rushed that i feel like there is no point on complaining.

another thing i feel like its worth mentioning is how ts4 took so long to add actually good darker skin tones. i still dislike the cool skin tones, maybe they could be used to vampires?????? but idk, i personally wouldnt use those ashy skin tones.

the ts3 gameplay is genuinely fun, i cant speak aabout the base game on its own as i havent played it by itself in a while but i LOOOOOOVE the gameplay. the gossip, the drama, the deep npc storylines, EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!! i dont feel connected to a single ts4 npc, but on ts3 its COMPLETELY different. i LOVED playing with agnes, she has such a depressing storyline. ts3 rlly knew how to destroy us with a simple room back then..... i also loved playing with the wolff family, making her divorce that terrible man she called a husband and giving her the child she always dreamed of. i felt eager to speak to each townie because every npc had a different personality that ACTUALLY affected the gameplay. i miss it when they wwould talk shit about my sim behind their back for getting with a married man, when the cops would "arrest" my teenage sim for being out late and how it affected her relationship with her family, throwing eggs at the landgrab's house and then running away(i think this one requires an expansion pack), making my kid sim ride his bike to the grocery store while his mom is cleaning the house, etc. all these small details added so much to the gameplay, it neveer got boring. i dont even feel the need for mods on ts3 because the game already feels complete on its on.

it is unfair of me to only say good things abt ts3 aand bad things abt ts4 so id like to mention the whole shit show that was the around the world ts3 expension. the fact that your whole goal in egypt was to steal things in the pyramids was weird to say the least. i like how ts4 isnt culturally insensitive, making collabs with simmers from different cultures in order to make new cultural itens. i am really excited for the new for rent expension pack. do i think it is gonna be EXTREMELY broken? oh, hell yes. i feel sorry for all the modders who are gonna have to fix everything because of that pack. but the cultural additions are gonna be awesome. if i remember correctly, it is based on thailand and i think it looks awesome. maybe its because the base game is based on upper middle class americans, but i never rlly liked the itens. it all feels so soulless, but the new for rent pack has so much personality. those chairs with holes aare so real, my grandma had one of those.
THEY ARE ALSO FINALLY ADDING RICE TO THE GAME!!!!!!!!! it BAFFLES me how little are the options of food with rice on sims 4(maybe even the sims games in general, i cant remember). maybe its because i am brazilian and i eat rice EVERY DAY but i missed rice on the sims. thanks thaibros for forcing ts4 to add more rice recipes to the game, idk what i would do without yall.
I ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THE MOTOTAXI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! here in brazil we also have mototaxi but we use just normal motorcycles, the ones i saw in the game actually look awesome, i think brazilians should adopt that too. i wish ts4 had open world so the sims could use the mototaxi more frequenly but i know thats never gonna happen. i also wonder if kids are gonna be able to ride mototaxis? i dont believe EA would add that, but im aware that in many areas kids ride vehicles, its rlly common to see a kid riding a motorcycle in smaller towns in brazil. i assume that also happens in thailand so i think that would be a fun detail! maybe they should make that passible if an adult is in the car???? orr maybe a modders is gonna add that.... i hope so!
i feel genuinely excited for that new expansion pack, im gonna play the hell out of it when it comes out.

i also LOVE the create a sim on ts4. i know ive mentioned this previously but its WAAAAAAAAAAAY easier. maybe its because of my bad memory but i HATE the sims3 sliders, i always forget what each of them actually does and i am forced to try them out every time. ts3 is also rlly laggy but idk..... at least it barely has any loading screen(stares at ts4 with 87435948029 slow and boring loading screens). speaking of BORING loading screens, i wonder why they stopped doing the interactive loading screens like they did back on sims 3. those were SO FUN! imma be real, sometimes id only play sims 3 for the loading screens........... id get a bit frustrated when the have loaded too fast. i genuinely thing those are necessary on sims 4 considering the amount of loading screens we are forced to go through. i KNOW i said i would talk great stuff abt sims 4 but i HATE neighborhoods. that failed attempt on opening the world did NOTHING. we cant even visit our neighbors house without having to sit through a loading screen. i genuinely hope they are working on a neighborhood update because it pissed me off so bad.

im not saying that ts3 is perfect but its definitely better than sims 4 on MANY aspects. i wish ppl wouldnt be so judgmental abt ts3 graphics, i personally like it, but i agree that ts4 graphics are more appealing. i promise that the gameplay is worth it, everyone should try ts3 out.
