Judaism's influences on Gnosticism

Judaism has long been the pinnacle of influence to religions, with most religions it encounters either perishing or drastically changing.
A perfect example of both things happening would be with the Gnostics, whom existed as a mix of Egyptian Paganism and Esoteric tradition, whom, when they reached Judah, became progressively more and more monotheistic, with the first Jewish Gnostic groups beginning to spout up everywhere from Jerusalem to Galillee. Eventually, however, due to the world-hating nature and celibacy of the Jewish Gnostics, they died out and were replaced by the Christian Gnostics around the first century with the arrival of the Paulian group, the Sethians.

While this is a brief explanation, it just goes to show how powerful Judaism can be, as well as any monotheistic religion when it encounters foreign religions.
Any feedback on this article is greatly appreciated, just please don't be too harsh :D
