Powerscaling Hancock

Power Scaling Hancock

I'll be breaking down Hancock, another cheesy super human movie from the 2000's.

Hancock Movie | Cast, Release Date, Trailer, Posters, Reviews, News, Photos & Videos | Moviekoop
Prerequisites
  • Repeat after me: for simplicity's sake, I will be assuming all non-superhuman appearing characters are average human level unless I have reason to believe otherwise
  • As always, I'll be assuming that the universe is nearly equal to our own. I feel like this doesn't need to be said, but I'm the detailed type.
  • I'll be discussing normal Hancock (this includes his refined abilities) and "Mortal" Hancock.
  • I'll be going in order from weakest to strongest.

Humans

Like all my other scales, I'll be touching on humans as they exist in Hancock. I will say, humans do absolutely nothing in this verse.

Speed
  • Basic human level. This ranges from low human in children to athlete level in SWAT members.
Durability
  • Hancock claims that flying could rip the skin off. Following this, he throws a child almost as fast as he is able to take off. That child then falls into a stiff arm from Hancock, and he isn't hurt. It might be weird to say, but these humans may be super human in durability.
  • Another point, one guy gets his skull shoved through another dude's... tailbone, and survives. I can't figure out what this is, but it ain't normal.
  • The bank robbers take flying tackles from Hancock without losing consciousness. This is also a more refined version of Hancock albeit seemingly not moving faster than sound. I suppose if children are super human, adults may be 4-5xSH. I will add though, these adults were well armored. The intention may have been to portray these dudes as elite among humans.
Power
  • Basic human level. Like speed, this ranges from low human in children to athlete level in SWAT members.
  • Ray Embrey is able to chop limbs off with an axe and strike with a strength that tosses a grown male a couple feet. He may be an outlier, seeing as though I put him at peak human to super human level.
Intelligence
  • Basic human level. Probably a good mix of low and high human in there.
Character
  • Hancock has some real goons. Kids want smoke with Hancock. Adults want smoke with Hancock. In a deleted scene, a woman wants the full thing from sir Jon. Everyone is irrationally ready to die for what they believe in.

Mortal Hancock/Mary

I'll be assuming Mary and Hancock are equals. She claims to be more powerful, and has cooler imagery, but loses her fight to Hancock and seemingly has less mortal durability. Also, just to be clear, "Mortal" is not actually mortal. These two are tanks with soft bodies.

Speed
  • Hancock's speed differs. He's seemingly athlete level in the hospital, but he is able to move at vague super human speed near the hospital.
Durability
  • Mortal Hancock is a squishy body with an insanely strong-willed drive. Bullets affect him, but he keeps going despite this.
  • Seeing as though Hancock and Mary share the same pain, I'll be considering their combined durability as the durability of each. Hancock takes two large revolver shots (probably 45s) to the stomach. A bit later, Mary takes one or two 12 gauge slugs to the stomach as well as a stray pistol round or two. A few minutes later, Hancock takes four or five more bullets from a revolver. Before he can bleed out, Hancock jumps from the top of the hospital and in to the street.
  • Considering the above, these two are a couple 50 Cents, each being around 2-4x super human if I had to guess. This is actually in line with the humans, who top out at ~4xSH.
Power
  • Hancock is able to throw beds, break door frames via walking, and launch people with ease. With no real major feats, I think super human is a safe bet.
Intelligence
  • Considering these two are thousands of years old, their decision-making and wit isn't very impressive. Normal human level.
Character
  • These two are just as much with the drama as the humans. Amazing ability to get shiesty.

Hancock/Mary

As I said before, these two are relative and will be put up as such.

Speed
  • Hancock breaks the sound barrier. Easy ~800mph or 14xSH. I'd say he might be more, especially after refining himself.
  • Hancock flies to the moon and somehow paints the moon within seemingly a few days, given that he was able to make the image and show it off without anyone noticing. This varies a lot. How did Hancock cover the moon? Did he act like a laser printer? Just traveling to the moon in a day is 4,449 m/s or 185xSH. Covering the moon repeatedly is another story. This one is weird. Hancock must be faster than he portrays when flying around.
Durability
  • Hancock just can't be harmed. He stops a train in its tracks, gets semi trucks thrown on him, bashed by a relative threat while moving at ~top speed, and redirects launched explosives with his bare hand.
  • It may be possible that Hancock is indestructible via game rule. I'm not so inclined to believe this, as his durability is on a spectrum and infinity isn't a value.
  • Hancock is many times super human. I can't put a number on it. I would make the guess that he's not tanking planetary attacks. According to the user, https://www.reddit.com/user/Bananas_n_Pajamas/ on reddit, it would take 49 million joules to stop a train. That's 16,476xSH of force that did nothing to Hancock. Full link below.
Power
  • If Hancock can stand 16,476xSH trains without losing balance, his body is just like that physically, albeit with maybe a bit of stance strengthening. We know he doesn't hit people with the force of a train, but that's probably him being nice.
  • Hancock can throw a small whale for what seems like over a mile of travel length. Just picking an 80,000lb Humpback Whale up is 40xSH. Throwing it is much more impressive. I don't have a mathematical argument, but I reviewed a piece on weight vs foot pounds and 200xSH seems like a realistic, albeit (most likely) very conservative guess.
Intelligence
  • Same as their Mortal selves. These two aren't smart.
Character
  • Unlike Mary, Hancock is primed and ready. Number one live action goon so far.
