K-pop (both as a whole genre & fandom) has a really strong fan culture. Between streaming, photocards and physical album collecting, K-pop twitter, K-pop has many intricacies to its media that don't exist in western music culture. Although something like fan poster designs (or more broadly just fan art) aren't exclusive to K-pop, when I found the posters I designed a while back it reminded me of how into K-pop I was last summer.

For some background, I first got into K-pop many years ago when I started high-school, and have been an on-and-off fan of K-pop and specific groups ever since. Though, not including during the pandemic, I’ve been a consistent fan of the group Stray Kids (skz) ever since I found them back in 2018. I’ve been to both of their US tours, and hopefully I’ll get to see them on their next one, whenever that will be! Though, none of these posters are of skz actually…

Anyway, last summer I got really into photocard collecting, though I’ve now sold many of my cards before starting college again. I used to collect 3 members of TWICE and 2 members of skz seriously, and had small collections for a few other groups. I did keep all of my skz cards (I have some rare-er minho pob’s (pre-order exclusives) that I can't just give up) but overall I’ve dropped the hobby altogether.

During that time, I started making use of my old college’s adobe plan over the summer and made some posters in my free time. They aren't anything spectacular, I made them mostly for fun, though I had a TikTok account that I would post videos of me making the posters on. It was more of an exercise in seeing if I would want to do art content creation, since I had been thinking about it for a while, but was never sure if it was for me. I can say now that it *probably* is not lol, it was just too much work to film everything.
