I wear a Magen David most days, but I am more than a normal Jewess, because I am Messianic. Lots of Jews will look at me as heretical, or at best deluded, they think I deny centuries of rabbinic interpretation, enshrined in the Talmud, for some deluded popularistic sense that we need to look at Jesus of Nazareth as the true Messiah, the Christ.
My Magen David to me speaks of my affinity with the line of David, who's descendant would be the Messiah, at the time when the Hebrew Nation faced it's cataclysm, and a new way for God's Chosen people needed to be shown, seen, experienced, and scriptures and prophecies fulfilled. For me, that was when Yeshua came to be and to teach his Jewish brethren the truth from God, and return the nation to their birthright of leadership among the nations, as spoken about in scripture.
I always have a Magen David on, even when I am not wearing a necklace, to feel connected to my people and my God and Saviour.
