I've been working on my Lullabies book series, mostly planning book two "Howl" and something has just occurred to me:
My main characters are named Jack and Rose.
Which happen to be the names of the main characters of the 1997 Titanic film (I've never seen it but i am roughly familiar, which is why I only figured it out later on), I'm not certain how I feel about the similarities. Should I change it? But Rose's name is important to her character so if I'm changing something, it can't be her name, it would have to be Jack. I want to go with something similar, at the very least, and still something that fits his character:
Jon/Jonathan (meaning "God gives").
James (meaning "one that takes by the heel").
Jasper (meaning "treasurer").
Ash/Asher (meaning "one who lives by the ash tree").
(I particularly like Ash/Asher because this is a werewolf novel and one of the weaknesses of werewolves is mountain ash).
Kobe/Jakobe (meaning "one that takes by the heel")
