Getting increasingly frustrated at every social media I use having threats to either get worse or to shut down entirely. I know that nothing is permanent and all but I hate how every social media increasingly tries to look the same and inevitably may crash and burn before i know it by time i wake up. It doesn't feel like how it used to. and that upsets me.

I know the obvious answers as to why that is. Internet is just more corporate now unfortunately. Capitalism is a bitch. Though I still think it's okay to express that frustration.

The only social media that's been the best to me so far has been instagram even though I still have immense gripes with some of my experiences there and the fact it butchers image quality (also the fact its owned by zuckerberg. but that's besides the point).

Tumblr would be a close second though its trying slowly become like other socials now + apparently they're going down the shitter too soon. Sucks. honestly this is what happens when you ban a good chunk of your userbase that used the site in an attempt to be more corporate-friendly.

Newgrounds seems like the most friendly to artist-expression given its history in being pro-creator but if im being honest the community has a terrible reputation and can be over-the-top edgy at times so I'm really hesitant to move my stuff there. But we'll see. if things get that bad I'll probably cave.
