Danny Elfman Analysis (Update; 2/22)

Today, I became really committed to try and study every small detail about Danny Elfman! Watching every video about him or featuring anytime I can and memorize it! I'm filling out an entire notebook about every article, interview, and performance on him! I'm putting all my dedication into knowing every single fact and every square inch about his life! Here's some things I know right now:

  • His brother, Richard, made the musical group "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo" After a while, he was interested in film making and passed the band to Danny.
  • Tim Burton loved Oingo Boingo and had Danny write the score for "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" which he grew up on as well.
  • Matt Groening, creator of the "Simpsons" had hated some of the Oingo Boingo performances and had rude comments toward Danny Elfman. A while later, he ended up asking Danny to write the Simpsons theme and now they're both good with each other!
  •  Danny Elfman was the singing voice for Jack Skellington, but didn't have the lead role for the voice because his voice was considered "too wooden"
  • Danny Elfman had also voiced Barrel for "The Nightmare Before Christmas"
  • Danny had been honored with four Oscar nominations, two Emmy Awards, a Grammy Award, the 2002 Richard Kirk Award, the 2015 Disney Legend Award, the Max Steiner  Film Music Achievement Award in 2017, and the 2022 Society of Composer and Lyricists’ Lifetime Achievement award. Danny also has an incredible seven Saturn Awards in the "Best Music” category, most recently winning in 2022 for his scoring work on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, for which he also won the 2022 HMMA “Best Score – SciFi Film” award.
  • Elfman exhibited an aptitude for science with almost no interest in music
  • He embarked on a ten-month self guided tour through Africa, busking and collecting a range of West African percussion instruments
(There's so much more, but that's all I will put for now!)
