You’re The Only You That There Ever Will Be…

Trigger Warnings

Mentions of LGBTQ+ & growing up comparisons.

Please stay mentally aware as you read ^_^

Why are you afraid to be you?

Honestly, we spend most of our young adult lives trying to be perfect. The perfect child, the perfect friend, the perfect student. We are told we HAVE to be a certain way in order to be loved. We are taught to be a people pleaser. We have to look, dress, talk, and act a specific way around others, to make sure we are liked and approved of by those people. Dress ladylike, sit up properly, don’t cuss or talk back, don’t give them a reason to talk about you, turn the other cheek. I wish you’d stop dressing like that, stop wearing so much makeup (or I wish you would wear it), I wish you looked/acted more like so&so (most likely a family member or one of your friends). I wish you’d act normal. Why don’t you listen to normal music (what?!). Why can’t you be less (insert whatever here)?!

It’s sickening! To think that no matter how hard we try. It will NEVER be enough for someone. So instead of trying to be someone else for everyone else, why not be you… for you?! It’s insane that it has taken me into my late twenties early thirties to be okay with being who I am.

I hate that it’s taken me this long to be okay with my own life choices. I am a Pansexual and I am polyamorous. I am proud to be me. I am happy to have finally been able to come to terms with this. To not feel ashamed or scared to be who I truly have always been. To finally be able to breathe. To be in public and not give a damn who sees/whispers. I love having no cares. I love showing my children that it’s okay to be whomever they choose to be, to like whatever they choose to like, and love whoever they choose to love. I’m teaching them to be kind to all living beings. To never judge someone for what they like. If it’s not harming themselves or others, there’s no reason to be put down for it.

If you are closeted, know you have a safe space with me. I’ll be your new mom if yours won’t accept you. If you’re new to the LGBTQ+ community please let me be the first to say I am sooooo proud of you accepting yourself. You are loved, you are valid, you are important! I am happy to be part of such a loving and accepting community.

Stay strong, stay wild, stay true to who you are!

Treat People With Kindness XD

Love, Kryssa <3
