Stories: My Current Read

Dear "Life as a Teenager" viewers,

This past weekend I was given the opportunity to sit down and read. This is something I haven't been able to do in a long time because of how busy my schedule has been, but I was very thankful I had the time to do so this weekend. The book I had chosen to read was one that had been on my list for a while. It was "The Problem with Forever" by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

The storyline follows Mallory Dodge as she navigates her way through her senior year after getting out of an abusive foster home four years earlier. During her journey into high school, after being homeschooled for many years, she must find her voice as she has been broken to be silent through her PTSD of her childhood years. While navigating her way into a new world, she reconnects with the Rider Stark, the boy who always protected her when she was younger. As the two reconnect, and sparks fly, they both learn they aren't alone with the lingering scars from the past. Mallory must make a choice to either stay silent or speak out - for the people she loves, the life she dreams for, and the truths that need to be heard.

I totally recommend this book! I think that it is something everyone should read because, like Mallory, we all need to learn to value our voices and know we are worth being heard.

Until next time,

Viola Black
