Life happens.... Take that back road.

(Reply to a facebook comment) Life does happen.... When road trippin' always keep a couple of unplanned days at the end. My husband would always tell me he had x many days off, when it was x+3. He's the one that would do the lollygagging at the campground the last day of the trip, when the rest of us would be sadly packing up. Or he'd want to take the long way home, while I was stressing that we had to be home in 3 days, even though most of our trips were 1 to 2 day travel. The most enjoyable lollygag was when we were going back up to Illinois from Tennessee. The trip normally took 10 hours. We'd been doing the drive for 17yrs. We would pass by roads off the interstate that looked interesting, and always say, "One day we'll take that road." "One day" finally happened. It was amazing😁 We found national parks, Laurel Cove Amphitheater (below), Wilderness Road Cemetery.... Just by saying, "Let's turn here," or "Let's follow this road on the GPS." We busted out the map when we lost signal on Rarity Road. Finally we made it back to I75. Our son (back home in IL) found us a room at Historic Daniel Boone Tavern Hotel in Berea, Kentucky. Where we stayed after a long day of road trippin'😁 Trenton is kinda like the Travelocity Gnome, he finds the coolest placest at dirt cheap prices🥰🤣 After 8hrs of traveling, we were only 2 1/2 hours North of our starting point🥰 Another awesome bonus was that we ended up in a town we wanted to explore by pure luck of the draw. Our last "Let's turn here" brought us back 1/2 hr South of Berea. Upon reflection, that last Luck of the Draw was a God Wink, because He knew how much we needed that day. He knew that within a year our lives were going to change in ways we never could, or would, imagine 🥰 😉

*Don't bother clicking on the blog. The only way I could copy & paste from FB was to put it in as a link. Sorry there's no photo either. I haven't figured out how to add one 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣🤣*
