RAIDEN OPINIONS!!!

opinions on the raiden shogun / beelzebub from genshin impact

warning, very ranty and opinionated lol..

first, during our first meeting with the raiden shogun, she was a foreboding and intimidating character, being one of the first REAL villaians in genshin outside of fatui and abyss. also her being an archon, let alone a playable character was very unique and the hype was real!! this was the point where i really loved the shogun and her potential to be an awesome villain... until raiden ei.

at first i didnt really had a super big issue with ei, since we didnt see much of personality during the fight, other than a few gestures. but after the archon quest, and moving on to her story quest (oh god her fucking story quest) and voicelines... i was very underwhelmed and somewhat disappointed.

not only did she go from a formidable and amazing opponent for the traveler, to a sweets-loving soft waifu (fandom interpretations do NOT help this) but the world around her just... did not change...? the people of inazuma hated the way raiden kept them trapped, they hated having their visions stolen from them. raiden put the citizens of inazuma in mental distress and... everyone just goes back to normal and is all happy and shit when the sakoku decree is demolished...? the resistance just hangs out in peace...? she gets no backlash...? fucking nothing??!?!?! people suffered because of her and we're just moving on????? excuse me???

and her design good lord. mihoyo has a tendency for anime-ifying traditional garbs, and has done it to their own cultures before, its bad. thats all i can say. but they make it even worse by making the lower part of her yukata so short her underwear is showing... yikes. plus boob window, hate boob windows.

erm and the boob sword thing... yikes. its stupid... thats all i can say.. looks like a dumb joke you would see in a parody making fun of anime fans.
