the deterioration of blogs as a medium

blogs used to be like EVERYTHING but ... recently it seems as though bulletins have taken over the original role of blogs.. it seems as though people use blogs more for essays and such rather than invitations to discuss topics... i might just not be looking in the right direction though? the people i have friended, they don't blog very often .. if at all... and i wonder if it ties into the deterioration of long-form media as a whole; i.e. video essays, books, movies, etc., becoming less attractive to audiences because of the introduction of short form media like tiktok or youtube shorts. attention spans have been eroded to mere seconds and nobody has the decency to actually stare, not just look. everything has been reduced to a rat race, even the concept of relaxing. it must be quick and meaningless, able to be forgotten in mere seconds because relaxation has gone from being as aware as possible to being as empty as possible, a husk of what could beĀ

it's a sad development and i pity those so affected by it that they panic at their phones losing battery (i refuse to say they died; machines are not human.) so they must scramble for yet another earth killing piece of plastic, just for that quick dopamine rush.
