ough oil pastels are always fun to play with !! messy, but the cool stuff you can do with layering~ if you haven't already tried it, if you put down a layer of color and then layer another color overtop of that so that it covers it, you can scratch it away with something like a razor or scraper to reveal the color underneath! this works best with a darker color layered overtop a lighter color.
I honestly hadn't tried that, in fact I didn't even know you could do that! lol Thank you so much for the advice I will keep this in mind next time I try (＠＾◡＾)
