Welcome to November!
I'm sorry, but even with Thanksgiving break, I find November to be a sucky month.
On Monday I went to a final exam study session for Cal I. Yep, it's that time of year, time to prep for finals. On Tuesday I took my 3rd Cal I exam, which I'm not confident I did well on. Also, Tuesday was Halloween, I dressed up, went to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and went Trick-or-Treating, hosted by my residence hall. On Wednesday I went to lab and met up with a friend of mine afterwards. One thing I should note is that it's been quite cold! It's hilarious; I was complaining about the heat last Sunday. Anyway, on Thursday I attended a professional development event, and on Friday I went to a step show. I couldn't really match the energy there.
I'm doing alright right now. I have two weeks until Thanksgiving break! Ugh, but there's so much stuff to do before then... It actually looks like it's going to warm back up, so I guess it's a little early to break out all the cozy stuff. As mentioned in the title, daylight savings time is about to end. I'm not happy about daylight savings time ending, but I am glad that the "DST" graphic will disappear from my watch when I reset it tomorrow.
Since it's now November, it's practically Christmas. My mom came into town, and I was able to look at what Target is offering its shoppers for Christmas. The selection's pretty nice. I hate to be cheesy, but it was last Christmas that I realized what Christmas was about. I can't wait to be home for winter break, even though I haven't even gone home for Thanksgiving break yet!
Now, some hard stuff. I've been stressing out this week since I'm a little behind on finding an apartment to lease. I really wanted to room with a friend, and our parents had a hard time agreeing on a location. But today...we found one! I can't wait to start the application process. While my mom was in town, she asked me about what I wanted to do for the summer. She suggested that I get a campus job or some sort of internship. Sometimes I forget that I'm 18. I'll be 19 in the summer, and I can't just sit around on my ass the whole season! I hope to find something, but I don't know where to start. Most companies won't hire freshmen for computer science internships, and many internships are competitive, I don't know of any campus job openings, there are few job openings in my hometown, and I've never worked before. What am I supposed to do? This really feels like a question I should be answering during winter break rather than now...
Anyway, it's getting late, and I need that extra hour of sleep. See you in standard time.
Boa noite,
