Helluva boss s2 ep7 and fizz's character

So I've seen lots of ppl who don't like the new ep of helluva boss and some of the reasons I've heard are becuz giving fizz a backstory apparently made him soft and ruined his character, becuz 'before he was cool and funny and badass but now he's soft and not funny' or something

I really don't like that ppl are saying this becuz he hasn't changed that much, he literally sang a whole song about mammon and how he sucked, insulting him in the lyrics and then using the fact he was too dumb to notice the song was about him until it was explicitly stated to further insult his intelligence. And then when mammon tried to threaten him, he stood his ground. Ppl keep acting like the fact he cried makes him soft and ruins his character, as if he wasn't crying over his abusive boss. He had good reasons to feel the way he did and him getting upset over the twins wasn't becuz the twins were mean to him -- like I've seen some ppl saying -- it was becuz if he lost he felt like it would cause him to lose everything else, becuz mammon had used him and given him so much and made him feel like he had to be perfect. I don't get why ppl seem to think him being scared of his abuser and losing the things he cares about makes him soft or takes away from the rest of his character, and he can't be funny or cool any more. I doubt the next ep he's in will be all about him so when he appears again he'll most likely go back to making jokes and being a side character without going in depth about him again. 

There is honestly so much hypocrisy in this fandom. Ppl complained when characters didn't have backstories and were one dimensional, but once a character gets a backstory ppl complain that it ruins the character and makes them too srs. Fizz was always gonna be a srs character, he was in blitzø's past and we knew blitzø had hurt him so obviously he would have a traumatic and srs backstory, he was never just a silly, one dimensional character and it was obvious he would get development in the future becuz it would literally be bad writing to give a character like him no backstory or not expand and what blitzø did to him and how it affected him later down the line. It was expected that he would have trauma and that it would eventually get explained more, we knew he would get srs moments

 His character is good and just becuz there were soft scenes in the new ep doesn't mean that he will remain that way through out the rest of the show, ofc he will be soft around Ozzie, that doesn't change anything about him insulting blitzø at ozzies in the lust ring, that doesn't change how he instulted him in ep 6 or anything (once again he wrote a song about his boss and made fun of him in front of a crowd on stage). His character hasn't been ruined, we just got shown what he's like in a different setting. 

(Yes I understand some ppl found the scenes with him and oz a little too romantic but that doesn't mean his entire character has been turned into a softie like some ppl say, we've seen blitzø cry before and ppl don't say the same about him)
