Explanations of behavior

My BPD makes it really hard to trust people. Like I'm terrified of others, but I'm trying to teach myself how to properly interact with people while remaining safe. It's not that I don't like people, I'm just a bit shy unless I know you very well. I've had bad experiences in my past, especially with cisgendered men and old men, both on the internet and irl. I just hope that no one is offended with my lack of social skills; I'm seriously trying to trust people.
