like the other comment said, I think a lot of these fans were younger when they first got into harry potter, most of us were sort of oblivious(even me), and only actually found out about her disgusting behaviour later on. That doesn't erase the fact that a HUGE fandom already grew. What you see here are fans who like the things that culminated in that fandom(fanfics, art), which weren't all DIRECTLY from JK Rowling. Just a small example is this one project by a group of fans THEMSELVES who are working to create this project about the marauders when they were younger! Most of the fans have long been actively trying to create harry potter stuff like merch, spinoffs, and stories so other fans can support them instead of Joke Rowling... i mean JK ^^;

I'll do more research on the marauders thing bc I forgot what it's called... But think of Drarry! This fandom would not be half as popular without them, meanwhile Rowling would never even think of putting anything queer on that franchise TOT

Maybe because it was a series a lot of people grew up liking. And despite the Creator's bigotry, the series itself doesn't explore any transphobic themes (to my knowledge.) it's about fricking wizardry and stuff. How can people not like that? It's a cool concept
