Sewing Projects I've Worked On

October 30 2023

Hi everyone! Second actual blog post woo hoo. I love making arts and crafts and one of those crafts include sewing! I have known how to sew for a very long time now since my grandma taught me it when I was very young, but now I want to practice more to become better at it! I would really like to take a sewing class in the future to learn more. These are two projects I have worked on within the past few months. The first one I did was for a friend of mine's birthday, they also really like Homestuck and were wanting a smuppet plushie so I delivered! I had used lishlitz's smuppet pattern as well as instructions, this was hand-sewn and resulted in the following (I had also bought them one of the Homestuck books for their birthday so you'll see that as well):

I think it turned out really well and it was incredibly fun to make despite the fact that my hands and thumbs started to form calluses lol. Some parts I had to remake like the body since I had difficulties making the rump but in the end I think it turned out pretty decent.

The next project I had made was a scalemate from Homestuck, since I had some leftover materials from making the smuppet, I had used those so you'll see that both are made from the same materials. This one I am not the proudest of since there are some parts like the snout and the spikes do not look exactly like a scalemate and like the end product of the original poster's, I believe the problem was that I overstuffed the head but it's whatever. I might remake it in the future. This was made using Eyes5's scalemate pattern which I highly reccomend if you are wanting to make a scalemate plushie! Thats really all I have for now, my next project consists of making Kanaya Maryam's skirt for a cosplay I am working on, which once it is finished I will happily post the end product! Thank you for reading and have a nice day^^
