Review of Power: Alan Wake 2

Before you ask, no, Alan Wake 2 isn't on steam as of writing this post, in fact, I'm doing this on here because first off, Epic Games doesn't really have a review thing (aside from the critic reviews stuff, ugh), and second, I just finished the game today, so I'd like to review this game on here just because, and since I'm doing this on stea- I mean Spacehey, I'll need to explain what my rules are when I usually do a steam review, we've got the big three in my opinion, we've got story, gameplay, and music, Simple stuff, anyways, I'll get to the point, and hey, if i get the chance, I might send my steam reviews to this site as well (and maybe even a bonus for Control?), also these are just my thoughts, don't take this like a bible scripture, ok? Good.

Story: When I was playing AW2, I remember thinking during Saga's Sections that it was actually pretty to faithful to Bright Falls in the original game, and I don't mean by design, the mood and feel of it is a literal reminder of it, especially with that opening scene, and then when I did Alan's Sections for the majority of the game, I remember just loving the surprises that I'd find in the dark place, I wish I can explain what those surprises are, but I think it's best for the both of us if you just check it out for yourself, because if I describe what those surprises are, It'd ruin it, but, I can give a little tease, and let's say, If you'd play Control before this, you're in for a huge enhancement of a treat.

Gameplay: Most of the game, I played of Alan's segments, I played some of Saga's segments before switching back to Alan, and all of this is because of a mechanic that actually allows you to play between Alan and Saga, and I love it, to explain it in a anti-spoiler way, Think of Saga's Gameplay as a enhancement of Alan Wake's original gameplay, and Alan's as a enhancement of American Nightmare's original gameplay, there's also the performence, personally, I didn't let it hinder my performence, but from my side, there were times where either textures didn't load properly sometimes, and others where the audio would go out of sync, I'm hoping that sometime after i'm done writing this review, they release a patch afterwards, doesn't matter when, because I really would love to do NG+ when it comes out but yeah, thought I'd get this out of my way, again, that was my side of things, it could be different from others but yeah.

Music: THEY DID IT AGAIN! They managed to kill it with the music, again, I can't speak much on the music because of the story reasons (i.g Spoilers), but the ones I can talk about is the Chapter Songs, these songs were specifically made for Alan Wake 2 and they're the best songs I've listened to in a while, now, a few months before this, I was listening to Low Roar and Poets of the fall because of Death Stranding and Alan Wake, and when I listened to the Chapter Songs, it felt like a combination of those two, best part is that they can be listened even without the Alan Wake side of it, as in, you could play it on a radio and no one would know it came from a video game (unless you tell them), and then the fact that they actually feel like they describe a character's thoughts like Saga after Chapter 1, so safe to say that I really loved the music. (P.S: Wide Awake and Superhero are my favorites, check them in your time)

Conclusion: This is officially in my list of Best Story Games that I've played in a while, alongside Death Stranding, the original Alan Wake and a few others, this game has been really special to me as I relate to Alan Wake in a way in terms of writing, and all I can say is this, that ocean is now a lake in the scale of what is to come for Remedy. 10/10
