We're getting back into FFXI!

God we love this game... Final Fantasy XI is such a unique experience, there's nothing quite like it anymore.
Like we know older MMOs generally had the same design philosophy but none of them exist in the kind of state that retail FFXI is currently in.
It's just so interesting and cool! It's almost more like an experience than a game sometimes, with how it's built world first gameplay second.
Like, some of the maps are incomplete or wrong because they were created in-universe. Of course this dangerous cave isn't going to have a good map, it's far too dangerous for some random cartographer!

We haven't hit level cap because we keep getting distracted and want to focus more on the experience and story... we're going through all of the expansions in release order because we think it'd be an interesting way to go through it! But then we learn about a cool thing some job can do and we start leveling that job instead of progressing... Like today we decided to start playing Scholar on a whim despite our level 65 Dark Knight right there ready to progress the story.

Sorry we're kind of rambling, but the point is FFXI is cool and does so much that we wish more modern games took influence from! 

And also it's a better game than FFXIV! (<--- we're kind of bitter)

Her name is Kemoner, we kind of imagine her like some brainless beast rather than a person... She's just some... thing, yknow? just some crechure... she goes out into the woods and kills monsters and chews on their bones and lives in a cave for a week before crawling back into town half dead and missing half of her clothes and inventory (she ate it)
