Laptop on its last legs so I'm working on adoptables and comm sheets </3

Pretty much as the title says. I'm not even joking when I say that my laptop is barely holding together at this point. Honestly its better than I expected given its a relatively cheap laptop not made for anything hefty, but it's got so many issues. First off, the keyboard is somewhat broken. Some keys don't even work on it anymore (like the 4 and 5, t, g and r keys for example). I had to end up using one of those wireless keyboards that my brother had but never got to use just so I can actually type things normally. Second off, my z key cap is missing. Don't know where the hell it went. Third, it has two USB slots but one of them is bugging out now and won't work anymore so whenever I attach my art tablet I literally have to take out the USB for the wireless keyboard so i can draw instead, and to top it all off the left button on my trackpad has been loose and gets a little jammed now and then.

So yeah, not necessarily ideal. Especially since I rely on this computer for art. It's only going to get more frustrating the longer I don't get a replacement.

So now I'm setting up plans to make adoptables and commissions. My goal is to probably get one of the higher end laptops just because of the fact that the speed on this laptop is REALLY not ideal for the things I do online. A pain in the ass but... It is what it is. I'll settle for a cheaper laptop if it comes down to it, but we'll see how getting money through art goes.

I'm also still looking for jobs in the meantime. Haven't gotten any calls back but I also have to consider the fact that due to my feet issues, walking and standing for long periods of time is going to have a negative effect on me in the workplace. Which really sucks! Because that's the biggest thing holding me back from working in places that would actually pay somewhat well. It's not like i don't want to work, it's just that once I do I know I'm going to be in agony by the end of my shifts. I need to eventually set up a doctor's appointment too because of that @__@ kind of annoying...

But since I'm currently not employed elsewhere, I thought that maybe setting up my goals through working on art would be more beneficial for now. At least until I can get set up. Art's what I probably do best out of anything else I can do so it'd probably good to see if I can get some form of money rolling that way.

Another thing I have to figure out is pricing my art too. I've been trying to consult my other artist friends about this because unfortunately my brain tells me I'm being too selfish, and I end up really underpricing myself. Doesn't help that artist spaces on social media make you feel pressured to underprice yourself as well. I don't personally understand why that's a trend in artist spaces though, since art is more of a luxury-item thing than something like living essentials. That doesn't undervalue its importance in the slightest but that usually plays a role into why it's not bad to put it a little higher in price.

Do not underprice yourself !!! even if the mean little shit-huffing gremlin in your head is screaming that it's selfish. If people can't pay it they'll go somewhere else and there's furries out there who will pay thousands for DeviantArt cutout sparkledogs just because they look kinda pretty.

(...mainly saying that to affirm it for myself).

I actually got a few character designs done for the most part. I'm not sure how many I'll be making but I've got 3 finished. I'm too lazy to get pictures out for them, but one of them is this cute pudgy moth-bunny character that I'm kind of proud of. Two people showed interest in some of the adopts already when I was streaming my progress in a discord server, so I think I'm doing something right.

I'll make another entry eventually on how comms and adoptables if they go well. Maybe once I get the comm sheets finished I could even pin them on my profile in case anyone happens to be curious. We'll see.
