creating art is a pain in the ass

i've done art as a hobby for so many years now and the process never gets easier. it sounds like common sense, but i wish at some point it wouldn't be so difficult to lay down an idea. there are so many things i want to do, but my lack of skill gets in the way every time. the curse of having done this for so long is that ive lost the beginner's ability to prioritize the process over the result. i want to create stories and world-build, but it's hard with no motivation. even when i feel motivated, i lose it as soon as my pencil doesn't make the ideal line, as soon as the shapes don't make sense, as soon as the piece isn't turning out to what i envision. 

with art, the only way out is through. i understand that good pieces are the product of a thousand bad pieces and that's the way its been since forever. it just kinda sucks and complaining makes me feel better about it
