⭑ Playlist From October 2023 ⭑
these songs are taken from my monthly spotify playlists!
❥ Buffalo Replaced - Mitski
This new album is really good, and Mitski proves constantly that she is just a fantastic songwriter and lyricist which is not changing anytime soon. I love this track specifically though I'm not really sure why, perhaps because it sounds kind of reminiscent of post-punk, in my opinion. Regardless, love it!
❥ I Remember You - Bjork
I adore Bjork and especially this era and all that came with Debut. I truly wish this track was on the Debut album. It fits right in with the whimsical, dreamy sound of the album. Tugs at my heart strings- ironic, I adore the string instruments throughout the album. God damn it, it should've been in there! I love this song!
❥ I Kicked A Boy - The Sundays
Sounds very coming-of-age and autumnal. I don't know much about The Sundays but the few songs I've heard fit that archetype too. Obsessed with this song and the meaning behind it...I feel it deeply.
❥ It Will Come Back - Hozier
Hozier comes back around every autumn for me. Loved his music for a long time now and I still can't get enough. God, the lyrics; "don't let me in with no intention to keep me...don't be kind to me...don't feed me, I will come back" is insane. Peak consumption as a metaphor for love, passion, lust and the like, I can't lie. Animalistic in the most heart wrenching way.
❥ Clementine - Elliott Smith
I just love Elliott Smith this time of year :) Makes me think of the film Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.
❥ Love Minus Zero - Bob Dylan
It's Bob Dylan season and I'm listening to some tracks I never paid as much attention too- and regretting a lot of them. I love this track a lot, Dylan's love songs are unlike any other.
I also have a specific autumn playlist you can find here, though a WIP~
