6 ( a perspective on the meaning of life and other stuff

hello. i'm writing this because i've nothing to bide my time with. it might seem hypocritical to some, or completely nonsensical to others, but in the end, it's a way for me to pass my time. LOL.

i sometimes catch myself pondering what purpose there is for us to be living as we are. sentience is suffering, to live is to experience hardship, and to know is to stomach the torment of life. i find myself thinking these things quite often throughout my life. then, there's that other small percentage of how we exist. sentience is also joy, it's pleasure, it's excitement. yes, knowledge of yourself and the people around you, to know you exist without purpose, without reason, it's a truth that makes the world seem all too monotonous, but you live anyway. you find that purpose within yourself. be it through outside mediums, such as religion, hobbies you immerse yourself in, or company. purpose can also come from within. maybe you're living just to live, to experience what twists your life might take, just to see if it could get any better from here.

i kind of started rambling there. back to the topic at hand, what is the purpose of life? my personal answer lines up with the existentialist beliefs of friederich nietzche and albert camus, amongst many others like them. there is no meaning, there is no reason. you are your own god. you are omniscient to yourself, and you are all-knowing of all things concerning you, the person. sometimes, that's all there has to be.

some people may classify this line of thinking as selfish. maybe it is? maybe it's a little self-centered in the grand scheme of things. but what does that matter?

i refute that statement with the fact that humanity in and of itself is inherently selfish. we struggle to grasp the concept that in the off chance of an infinite number of zeros and a singular one, it happened. we refuse to come to terms with the possibility, that we may just be the only sentient life in our being, and resort to inventing these falsehoods of a grand happy ending after the most horrifying unknown that for many, is death. i don't think this is wrong per-say, it's how some of us have learned to live with ourselves. and that's okay.

in the end, my personal opinion, is that the meaning of life is to enjoy yourself. do what makes you happy, do what fills you with purpose, enjoy the fleeting moment you've granted yourself, do your best to propel your existence, and hold it close to your heart. (but who am i to tell you what to do, am i right?)

humans, live happily!

or something like that..
