★ Small Summary
A young adult named August Pfeiffer, or Auggie, is destined to become a vessel for a supernatural entity. His worries quickly go from schoolwork to trying to survive the attention of multiple vampire factions and the oncoming possibility of his body no longer being his own. If that wasn't enough on his plate, he's also attempting to juggle his romantic interests into the equation.
★ The book has a wonderful pacing and keeps the readers interested as you keep reading without overwhelming you with too much information at a time. The attention of the readers is easily guided to each character as they are introduced, and the characters are all well built and interesting, and compliment each other as they interact within the book. As the plot develops you find yourself unable to stop reading in order to try to figure out what is going to happen next. The romance in the story helps the story feel more dynamic, rather than taking away from the main plotline, and ties in well with the storyline and even shapes major decisions that Auggie makes throughout the book. The ending made me crave more, but also helps tie the story up nicely without leaving any plot holes or feelings of being left unsatisfied.
★ Rating
I personally loved this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new queer adventure novel to immerse themself in. 10/10 overall rating, ( SPOILERS ) though i do wish that Auggie's relationship could have continued with more action. The open ending allows you to determine your own end to the relationship, but i personally wish they had a clear determined happy ending.
