The title is self-explanatory. This is a review of the (cancelled) NES version of RoboCop Vs. The Terminator.
Graphics: 7/10
The graphics are decent stuff, giving off similar vibes to Batman NES. Lots of dark colors, giving a gritty feeling.
Sound: 8/10
Catchy soundtrack and decent sound effects.
Story: 6/10
There are only 3 cutscenes in the game, with decently drawn artwork but the wording can be confusing. The basic summary is that 3 terminators are sent back to capture RoboCop, who's mind is used to create Skynet. This leads to the future war in the Terminator movies, but RoboCop breaks free from Skynet's control. It's a simple premise that is similar enough to the crossover's comic.
Gameplay: 7/10
It's a bit buggy. Since it is not a released game, that means that it didn't get the bugfixes it needs. Glitches include stuff like the occasional hole in level geometry or the fucked up climbing animation. Nothing gamebreaking, really. Otherwise, this is easily the best RoboCop game and the best Terminator game on the NES, which is a comically low bar. It's a run-n-gun game, basically a slow-paced Contra. The challenge is fair, and you can finish it in an afternoon. Some of the levels are too fucking big though, but those still provide a decent challenge.
Final ranking: 7.5/10, I recommend it.
