Coquette girls/Nymphet. A genre of soft girl that is often associated with Lanna del Ray. They are an aesthetic that usually deals with hyper-feminine styles and child-like personalities, as well as the flirtatious but non-serious behaviors of young adults and teens. They have sub-genres such as bubble gum coquette. A pink aesthetic that deals with child-like clothing and objects and has a lot more pink. As well as dark Coquette/Dark Nymphet, which is the one we will be mostly talking about and using in our examples. Dark coquette girls are often a girl who listens to Lana del Ray (Which is the reason coquette girls are associated with her), do cigarettes, self-deprecate, and rely on an older and mature male to set their lifestyle and plan. What distinguishes them is their darker colors, their seduction that brings in the older men, their style that often is associated with the 50s and 60s, and their often romanticising kidnapping and/or drug use. Where Coquette girls have a sense of innocence and child-like aura that brings in the older men, dark coquette girls are the ones that bring in the older men. Seducing them and eventually relying on them.

To start we must find where this all began. Which for Dark Coquette is Dark Nymphet. An aesthetic dealing with younger girls attracting older men with her trauma. This aesthetic often sexualized kidnapping, drug use, and pedophilic relationships. It started when the book Lolita came out. A book about a 12-year-old girl who is bribed into a relationship with a man who is obsessed with her in exchange for sexual favours from the perspective of the predator. It's a book about sexualising/romanticizing pedophilia, kidnapping, and more. After that Era of the book wore down, Lana Del Ray became their idol. She made songs about young girls being used for their beauty and not only did this resonate with the people who used the aesthetics but it also made them feel validated and seen. Though dark coquette girls according to the wiki stay away from the traumatic side of Nymphet they often still have the pedophilic, daddy kinks, and often controversial parts of the aesthetic. Which is often seen still. Though one issue is that dark coquette is so intertwined with dark Nympth it may be hard to tell the difference.

Coquette girls often prefer older men who would take care of them like a child, which is why they are often associated with DDLG. DDLG is a subgenre in the Age-difference kink in the BDSM community. For a lot of people in the BDSM community, they don't associate with it, and rightfully so. DDLG means Daddy Dom Little Girl, which talks about the girl in the submissive with a child-like personality and the dom being an older guy that the girl calls daddy. It could be a roleplay thing or a genuine kink that happens every time during sexual times or in real life. Though not to shame people who call their partner by mommy or daddy, this is something completely different. Not only does DDLG bring in predatory behaviour for whoever has it, but it's deeply rooted in pedophilia and craving for a younger person. Following the BDSM rules which have to be safe, consensual, and private, there are just simply some kinks you can't fully accept for your own morals. And this is one that I feel many can agree on.

One thing we've noticed while studying the subject is that coquette girls often use their Daddy issues for the issue of why they are into older men. Not only is this simply unusual but this is also rooted in pedophilia. For often the man or the dominant in the relationship treats the person like a child. The girl stepping on his shoes, calling her child-like names like a princess, and telling her simple praises. Though this could be completely normal, it's fine to call your partner a princess, but you have to admit a lot of this is something that one's own parents could say to you. There is a line where being called cute names, having a size difference, and texting each other praises turns into something that you would tell your own child. And personally, that makes me and many others uncomfortable. Again like I said it's fine to call your partner anything such as daddy or mommy. But sometimes it's better to keep it private and alone.

Though this shouldn't be the most concerning to any individual, it could spread issues in the aesthetics community. Aesthetics that romanticise any type of crime whether it's sexual, pedophilic, or ect. If more aesthetics grow to be like this, who knows what might be the next thing that causes harm to people's minds and bodies.
