didn't know what to title this, sooo... light pollution, huh?

i dunno how to start this, so lemme explain.

i was chilling in my room and i was about to turn the lights off when my mom decides to walk in. normally, she and i would have a mini staring match before she'd tell me to go sleep, but she gave a single blink before walking over to my curtains and looking out, giving only one line for context:

"there's only one star in the sky."

knowing my mom, i was more than sure that this was some sort of trick (or it was the weather, it was cloudy as hell earlier during the day) until i walked into her room and peeked outside with her to see, as she said, a single star in the sky.

i live in a rather urban area, so stargazing's a little harder than usual since you can barely see the stars thanks to the light pollution and possible smog (and any other factor that goes into not being able to see the night sky clearly), but i think those, along with the clouds, just made it a rather unfortunate day to look up at the night sky.
