Well, I live in Leoben now. An Austrian city, more than 3 hours from home, and I study there.
This weekend I couldn't get home so I decided to take the Sunday for a little hike!
I started directly from my flat in the suburbs of the city.
Soon I got into the woods.
Leoben from above - the viewplace was called Kolbruhe
The first kilometers were a mix of footways and forest roads. Nothing special or exciting but look who I found!
They didn't move at all, even when I touched them. I guess it was too cold for them, since it was still morning and around 7 degrees.
There was so much Himalayan Balsam in this forest. Its a sweet stinking neophyte that grows everywhere and cums its seeds on you if you touch it, no reallly. I hate it xD
But there also were a few Fly Agarics along my way :)
Jungle
Hiiii - this one did crawl around like they normally do. The others were just lazy :P

Wellllll, this is the first summit! Looks shit, right? It is. There wasn't even the slightest of a path onto it, only underneath - I understand why you wouldn't want to go there. Nothing to see. Any ways, the summit (or hill) was called Spitz Christi and 1105 m high.
From this little peak on, the ridge wasn't steep anymore.
You see the steel mill Donawitz in the valley.
That's a summit here! Mießriegel, 1213 m high. It's a bit away from the hiking trail, but the forest is easy to walk across, so why not?^^
I love the peacefulness in the forest, there was really no one on my way except two trailrunners, even here I'm far off the path.
The mountain Mugel in the background. I originally planned to only do these two, but I had so much time still... so I went up there too.
This ridge is called Lange Bank (long bench) and ~1205 meters high
Gstattmoaralm
hehehehehehehe
Wait, did I just pass Gstattmoaralm? That means I'm already on the ascend to the Mugel? Did I want to go up there? Hm. Well, anyways... ;P
The climb was steep but got flatter now and I already wondered where the summit was (photo shows where I went up). But then, out of nothing...
Mugel, 1630 m
Success!
And yea, it began to snow xD
Hm... this is the next mountain (Rosseck, 1664 m) but I don't want to go there anymore. And I also don't want to go down over the ridge, where I already hiked up... I want to get down to the valley to show you the Styrian periphery too, but the next path down is so far away...
Let's just head straight down!
I ran down the grassland (I love running down hills) and found this meadow and even a hunter trail which I ran down afterwards. The path was marked in OSM, I don't trust the map to 100%, but I take suggestions from it. This time the map proved right, there was a path and it was even cut out of the grass so you can easily use it.
And a few minutes later, I was in the valley! This house here is called Alpe in der Gams and was once the innermost farm in the valley, but now it's just a pasture.
That's going to be a looong and boring and exhausting walk. Or as we say in Austria: a Hatscha
Stadlmaieralm
Lackner
Pichler, with chapel
Gstattmoar
Hi boys
Schwaiger
Ortner
The electricity line is hanging so low, I could grab it without jumping
Kreuzbauer
The crossing of Kleingößgraben and Großgößgraben. I came from left.
...hatsch hatsch hatsch...
The communist party is relatively strong in Styria, but isn't that a bit of a weird place for election advertising? :P
Braitensteiner
ooo, there's a church!
If I pull the string I'm gonna make a lot of noise I guess hehehe
and I'm in the city again!
...kinda
---
The last kilometers back to my house were exhausting too. Around 24 or 25 km in total, took me around 7 hours. Gonna sleep well today :)
