The Magnus Archives thoughts

The thing about the monsters in TMA is that they feel different and more interesting than others, Michael for example is a really interesting creature as it is not just a monster but has thoughts and wants outside of feeding on fear, it is not just an mindless abdomination but actually just, more than that. I am someone who has trouble with seeing monsters in fiction as either or like i think often: "its a monster it cant have thoughts/does it even think? or is it completely guided by its nature?" and i feel like TMA illustrates that stuff really well and i can see some of the creatures not just as eldritch murder monsters but also as characters and i just really like that.
